December 2019 saw THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA transport audiences at the Lyric Opera House, Chicago to the sun-drenched piazzas of 1950’s Florence and Rome, with 10 critically acclaimed performances.

Opera superstar RENÉE FLEMING, ALEX JENNINGS (Netflix’s The Crown), ROB HOUCHEN (Les Misérables), MARIE McLAUGHLIN (Royal Opera House) reprised their roles, with SOLEA PFEIFFER (Almost Famous) as Clara Johnson, ERIC SCIOTTO (Aida) as Giuseppe Naccarelli and SUZANNE KANTORSKI (Opera Orlando) as Franca Naccarelli.

Directed by multiple Olivier Award-winner Daniel Evans, this lavish production with a full staging and gorgeous period costumes was accompanied by Lyric Opera Chicago’s 30-piece orchestra at the Lyric Opera House, Chicago.
